The grove is 20 months old. The record of it is 7 months old. For the first year nobody was writing any of this down — which is the same gap the weather station has, only longer.

What follows is every entry published to the Substack, newest first, with the grove's dated events set between them in the quieter type. The events are the things that happened whether or not anyone wrote about them: three loads of wood chips, two freezes, the day the instrument went up.
